Octane is an engineering data management suite. It helps engineering and manufacturing companies manage and share project and product change information. All engineering departments process ECN's or engineering change notices, maintain and store project data and track tasks. Octane puts all that in one web based solution.

Octane is NOT an PLM or MRP.  It fits between them.  An MRP manages your inventory and costing information. A PLM manages product data in the form of 3D models, asselies and prints. PLM and MRP systems often do not sufficently address the needs of engineering to manage the vast amount other data.
